Our Nation Un-tied
April 23, 2010
Your shoe is untied
You might trip
Your long laces, and rocky spaces
Could end in disaster.
What has held us secure
In the running of our national race through history
How can it so quickly be untied
and lie vulnerable in waves of hurried changes
Slow down and restore security
Review the familiar loops and snug each eyelet
Return to the basic knots that have secured us so long before
that we might run strong once again.
We don’t need heavy new boots of government
We don’t need lazy handed-over velcro
We don’t need to have someone tell us our good dependable shoes are tired and worn out.
We simply need to re-tie the laces we have.
Stop running.
Humbling bend down, bow your head and focus on the what has carried us before
And run in security that you have tied your shoe and you know it is ready
to support your own running
Take action now or the fall will not be of one runner, but of us all.

Seasonal Sinusitis
Drippy nose Itchy eyes Cheeks a rose Sleep? I’ve tried.
dried mouth dry skin patches dusty house pollen snatches
Sniffles snorts congestion phlegm post nasal courts weather’s whim
drugs that dry and pills that block seasons die co-pays sock
O to have clear, full breath again With out radar’s scope of tissue supplies Sleep-full nights and restful dreams set in Good riddance as seasonal sinusitis flies

King of the yard, top of the heap First rise and and end the sleep
Watching the hood and coop Patrolling the daily parade route
Proud and pious struts the cock Gargling calls to defend the lot
Roasted, Brazened, Fried or Poached The roosters boldness soon to be toasted. . 11/26/6

Singings, twirling, opening, draining Dripping, dryings, extending, flying, Handle’s curved and molded firm. Grips and latches, straps and sleeves Raincoats, ponchos leaves, For on the wall those blossoms wait, To cover their heads as the quickly gate.

Phony Poems
Rhyming words that do not touch the soul A grown ups’ dancing as a three year old.
Copied form and wrangled lines Garbage cans of lemon rhine
Almost real or deep or power packed Instead their see through croocker sacks
Twisted fluff with no parallels Bunch of trash to line the pales.
